Komatsu Acquires a Solutions Provider for Mining Equipment:To Optimize the Loading Process

Komatsu Ltd. (President and CEO: Tetsuji Ohashi) (hereinafter "Komatsu"), through its wholly owned subsidiary in Australia, has acquired MineWare Pty Ltd (CEO: Andrew Jessett) (hereinafter "MineWare"), a solutions provider for mining equipment, in Queensland, Australia.
MineWare mainly provides systems for loading equipment, such as draglines as well as rope and hydraulic shovels in mines around the world, optimizing their payloads (payload monitoring) and gvisualizingh excavation positions (guidance). The company has an advanced technology portfolio to improve the loading process, a very important step to uplift productivity of the entire mining operations.
Komatsu not only automates mining equipment by using ICT (Information and Communication Technology), but also works to improve the jobsite safety and productivity of mining customers by connecting a variety of jobsite data on open platforms. Komatsu is now positioned to incorporate MineWarefs solutions into its line of offerings, offer them and make further contributions for its customers by optimizing their mining operations.
Komatsu anticipates the Acquisition will have no substantial impact on the results and performance of Komatsu for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2017.
